my friends call me Mel
yoga teacher, dog mom + cinephile (especially of Audrey Hepburn films).
As a recovering Type-A Perfectionist (forever a work-in-progress), I spent many years working in demanding + stressful environments — in the entertainment industry, real estate + personal assisting. Along the way, I found myself in a yoga class, grateful for the solitude, self-compassion, and time for myself. During one class, I had a quick ping of inspiration, “…maybe I could teach yoga someday.” And many moons later I found myself in a yoga teacher training at YogaWorks in Los Angeles. I loved the many layers of yoga — how it starts out for most of us as a purely physical practice, but over time its deeper soul reveals itself. Yoga was where I found my best self: compassionate to myself + others, allowing myself much-needed time for self-care, and a place to quiet the chatter so I could connect to my inner voice.
I know how transformative yoga can be. And I am honored to help facilitate that for others. I love sharing the benefits of yoga, breathwork + meditation. And usually, when someone comes to a yoga class, it’s a part of their day that they look forward to + enjoy, and I get to be a part of that.
My jam is slow, therapeutic + restorative yoga practices, with a side of simple breathwork, essential oils + maybe a little Reiki. I love to guide my yogis to a state of relaxation + ease.
Stress, burnout and overwhelm run the show these days, but what if you could find more balance, peace + ease in your life? I’ve got the goods — I can show you how.
Let’s have a chat! We can talk about your yoga needs or dogs or Audrey Hepburn movies ;)
